Licensed Clinical Psychologist | Upper East Side, New York

Specialized psychotherapy for men, fathers, adolescent boys and young adults.

I help people work through difficult emotions and recurring patterns in their relationships while developing their strengths and pursuing goals that matter to them. Our work can address what is painful, what is getting in the way, and what you want more of in your life.

Who I work with

Two starting points

Men and fathers make up much of my adult practice, and adolescent boys and young men are a long-standing focus of my clinical work. Women and adults of any gender whose concerns fit this approach are welcome.

Men & Fathers

Pressure that doesn't let up, conflict or distance at home, a separation or divorce, or a life that looks right from the outside and feels less satisfying than you hoped. We work on the patterns underneath and on the person, partner and father you want to be.

Therapy for men and fathers

Teens & Young Adults

For parents who see real ability in their son alongside anxiety, shutdown, conflict or trouble following through, and for young people managing school, college, family changes and growing independence. Their own goals are central to the work.

Why people come in

Relief, and room to grow

Some people come in because something hurts. Others are doing reasonably well and want to make fuller use of their abilities, build closer relationships, or make a decision with more clarity. Many want both. You do not need to be in crisis for therapy to be worthwhile.

What is getting in the way

  • Anxiety, low mood and self-criticism
  • Anger or reactivity you regret afterward
  • Recurring conflict, distance or withdrawal
  • Avoidance and trouble following through
  • Divorce, family conflict and painful experiences

What you want more of

  • Fuller use of your strengths
  • Closer, steadier relationships
  • Confidence with hard decisions
  • Meaningful goals you can sustain
  • Being more present at home and at work

How the work goes

Understanding that leads to change

I ask careful questions, offer my perspective, and help you see patterns that are hard to see on your own. We might look at why a disagreement keeps ending in distance, what happens when you feel overwhelmed, or what an important next step asks of you emotionally.

Then we connect that understanding to different ways of responding in daily life. Depending on what you need, that can mean practicing specific DBT skills, working through painful experiences, or thinking through a decision you are facing now.

Appointments

In person, on the Upper East Side

I keep a small caseload in my office on the Upper East Side, and each patient has a standing weekly time that is reserved for them. We start with a free 15-minute phone consultation to talk about what you are looking for and whether one of my open times fits.

Sessions are 50 minutes and the fee is $350, paid by Zelle, cash or check. Insurance is not billed for these sessions.

Do you take insurance?

These appointments are private pay, and insurance is not billed for these sessions. If you would like to use in-network insurance or need weekday or virtual care, Inzinna Therapy Group, the group practice I founded, has a team of clinicians.

Are sessions available online?

No. Sessions are in person only, at 160 East 89th Street, Suite 1B on the Upper East Side.

My son doesn't want to go. Can this still help?

Many teenagers first come in because a parent suggested it. I take time to understand what they want for themselves, and that is often where engagement starts. We talk about how parents are involved at the outset.

What happens after I book a consultation?

We talk by phone for 15 minutes. If the work seems like a good fit and one of my open times works for you, I reserve that time for you each week and send intake paperwork before your first session. See each step.

What if I miss a week?

Your time is held for you every week, a bit like a reserved parking spot, so the $350 fee applies each week whether or not you attend. The exception is holidays and time away that we plan in advance.

What ages do you see?

Children from age 10, teenagers, young adults and adults. For anyone under 18, a parent or guardian arranges care.
